The days keep getting shorter, the air keeps getting cooler, and the football keeps getting better. That must mean only one thing: fall is upon us.
While this is the time of year that people start wishing they own a hot tub (if they don’t already), what a lot of people don’t realize is there might not be a better time of year to fire up the grill. This is especially true if you own a Big Green Egg.
Most anyone who owns an Egg will use it for their Thanksgiving turkey. But for true Eggheads, it will be yet another great meal experience for the fall. Now that summer is totally over, we start yearning for heavier dishes, and the Big Green Egg totally delivers.
One of our favorite dishes to start to make in the fall is a rich and flavorful chili. Big T’s Chili Chowder is an award-winning, interesting take on a nice, hearty chili that everyone will enjoy.

Another great thing about cooking deep into the fall is that it is universally acceptable to stuff things full of other things. Whether it’s filling your bird with bread crumbs, or going vegetarian by adding some flair to a portobello mushroom, if you want to stuff your face with stuffed food, this is the time of year to do it.
Stuffed peppers on a Big Green Egg are always a success, and they are so very simple to make. Here’s a great video tutorial for making stuffed jalapenos.
Warning: there’s a fairly crude nickname for these peppers involving the nuclear properties of a bison’s digestive system, so you may not to watch if you’re a bit squeamish.
Since Thanksgiving Day is such a feast, we’ll do a separate Blog post on things to cook for this year’s Turkey Day, so be on the lookout sometime next week for more ideas!
